New SHS-H variant of popular Chinese SUV will rival Nissan Qashqai e-Power and Kia Sportage Hybrid from £29k

For reference, the rival Kia Sportage Hybrid is priced from £34,475. Its uses a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine and a single electric motor for 145bhp, a 0-62mph time of 7.9sec, 50.4mpg and emissions of 126g/km.

The new 7 SHS-H is available in two trim levels, Pure and Deluxe. The latter, priced from £32,795, adds faux-leather upholstery, expands the touchscreen to 14.2in and adds an extra two speakers.

As well as the new hybrid option, Jaecoo has added a Black Luxury trim to the 7 range (pictured above). Blacking out the standard wheels and chrome elements, it’s priced from £36,500.
